Dr Jayne O’Shea – Consulting Engineer, TUNRA Bulk Solids
Dr Jayne O’Shea completed a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Newcastle (2005- 2009), where she graduated with first class honours and the University Medal. She completed her PhD studies at Newcastle University (2010-2015), examining belt conveying system energy prediction models using the relaxation properties of rubber.
Dr O’Shea has worked within the Bulk Solids Group at the University of Newcastle, which includes TUNRA Bulk Solids and the Centre for Bulk Solids and Particulate Technologies, over the past 15 years. Her roles have included laboratory technician, engineer, research assistant, class tutor/demonstrator, research associate and consulting engineer, which is her current position within TUNRA Bulk Solids. She has been involved in a variety of bulk handling research and consulting projects, as well as contributed to the design and commissioning of various testing facilities currently operating at The University of Newcastle.
Dr O’Shea was awarded the AW Roberts award presented by the Australian Society for Bulk Solids Handling in 2019.
