Dr Luke Stone – Mechanical Engineer, Hatch

Dr. Luke Stone is a mechanical engineer, leading Hatch’s discrete element modelling (DEM) team in Wollongong, and delivering global projects and support. The Hatch DEM team are experts in granular flow performance, pushing the boundaries of prediction, analysis, and mitigation techniques within the bulk materials handling industry. Luke’s expertise includes knowledge of a wide range of materials covering hard rock and cohesive ores, concentrates and filter cakes, and free-flowing powders.

Luke will present the recent findings on the silo quaking phenomenon by Liam Andrews using past and present research and modern multi-physics simulation tools for visualization and assessment.
