Thomas Walkemeyer – Materials Handling Engineer, Onyx

Thomas Walkemeyer has worked in materials handling for the mining industry for 9 years, specialising in DEM simulation and the design of bulk handling equipment. The behaviour of cohesive mineral ores are particularly difficult to accurately simulate; Thomas has been working with Onyx Projects to develop advanced material calibration methods to meet the needs of their clients, for accurate reproduction of the complex flow behaviour of cohesive materials to allow robust design of transfer chutes and other bulk handling equipment.
